If you're someone like who I use to be, then this is something that will be a little difficult for
you to do. You see when you shake up your life to change your own perspective, it doesn't
only mean the way you think, but also the way you see things, the way you do things, your character and all.
To change your own perspective you got to imagine yourself on the outside looking in. So just imagine a situation whereby you're going through the most difficult time, I know many of us have been through a difficult moment in life, some too often and instead of getting the comfort we're looking for whether it be physical or emotional, we instead get harsh words and we got to get up and face things while still battling the pain. This can cause us to react the same way towards someone else. Why? Because we didn't get the right treatment when we were in the same situation, so why should we treat someone else any better? See that's where we got to change our perspective, see if we want others to treat us right or even to have others see things how we see them, we got to put ourselves on the outside looking in. We got to imagine ourselves in that situation and what we would have wanted someone else to do for us.
It's not an easy journey trying to change our perspective, but the more we try the better we get at it, and, the better we get, the easier it becomes.
So challenge yourself. Whatever the situation might be, either a decision you need to make or something you or someone else is going through, instead of only seeing things from your perspective, try to put yourself on the outside looking in. Imagine you being the one having to make that choice as the other person has to, or you being finding yourself in that same situation, What would you like someone else to advise you? What would like someone else to do for you? How would you like someone else to react?
