It normally takes nine months to bring new life into this world and for mothers, fathers, grandparents, and many families, it is the greatest gift of all times. Holding your baby in your arms for the first time, feeling those soft tiny little hands, those tiny little feet, and watching your recent addition to the family sleep so peaceful is one of the happiest moments.
Watching them grow is so wonderful from their first coo to their first time sitting up, creep, walk, and first words, talk about many memorable moments.
What is so wonderful though, is being able to celebrate every new year of life with them.
For many, the biggest excitement of all time was seeing your baby turn one since that is because they have reached the first year in life.
I bet for most it’s the time you just want to make things so special since you want to make it memorable and have in an album somewhere to show your kids when they get older.
I know for me every year I get excited for my children’s birthday since even though I try to put a smile on their face every other day, this one day out of the entire year I am so extremely blessed to have another year of life with them.
When you celebrate a birthday, it’s not always about cake or parties but it can be about just doing things that the person whose day it wants to do.
Every time my birthday comes around I love celebrating them by going out to dinner or by getting to relax all day. I know it sounds boring but since mostly I’m busy, it’s really the one day that I just want to have “me” time (you know since it’s really the only time anyone will allow you to do what you want) lol.
With kids, however, you know how some are. They always want a party with cake, pinata, party bags and gifts and don’t forget about food. It’s the time I see they always look forward to aside from Christmas and Easter.
Birthdays are a blessing and something just worth being thankful for since, just like the 1st of January each year, is a celebration to see the new year, being able to see a new year of life is just as important.
For many, they don’t look forward to birthdays because they remember the passing of a loved one, but I believe the loved one that you would remember would want you to enjoy the blessing of seeing another year.
I remember being told that you're to cry when a baby is born because you never know the struggles they will face in life and you celebrate when someone dies because it means that their struggles in life are over.
Celebrate your birthday each year because it’s a blessing to grow older.
