Belize is a beautiful Caribbean country on the northeastern coast of Central America. It is located north of Mexico, east by the Caribbean Sea, and south and west by Guatemala. Belize’s population comprises 419,199 since 2020.
Belize is the home to many cultures: Creole, Mayan, Mestizo, Garifuna, East Indians, Asians, Indians, Hindu’s and many more. We also know it as a tourist destination. Since Belize is so small it’s not known by many so the majority is unaware of where the country is located.
Belize is the only Central American country where English is the official language however, Belizean Creole is the language that they consider being their national language. In Belize, you can find more than just English or Belizean Creole-speaking people since it is the home to many people that have made this country their home. You may find those that speak Spanish, Hindu, Chinese, and more, but the majority will be English, Belizean Creole, and Spanish since they consider Spanish a second language.
Some say that Belize is dangerous, many have also said it is the best place to vacation. Belize is exquisite. There are many places and sites that you can see once you are looking for a nice place to relax. In Belize, there are different Mayan ruins you can visit Caracol, Lamanai, Altun Ha, Xunantunich, Cahal Pech, Labaantun, El Pilar, Cerros.
There are also many Cayes such as Caye Caulker and San Pedro (La Isla Bonita) that can you can visit to relax, snorkel, fishing and more.
You can also go to see different sites such as the Blue Hole, Guanacaste Park or go on adventures.
When visiting Belize, be aware of your surroundings, just like anyone who is visiting a new place or going out. You also need to be aware of whom you come in contact with, just like anywhere else. Otherwise, I would say that Belize is as safe as any other destination in the world. Even though you might hear about the increase in crimes in the country, the country is small, which makes it seem high.
Most Belizeans are pleasant folk and deciding to travel to Belize to know more about the place, its culture, and why it is a nice place to vacation is something many enjoy doing.
Belize is not a luxurious destination, but there are many places you can visit that are pretty nice to stay. The primary place that is mostly visited are places such as San Ignacio, Placencia, and the Cayes. There are some recent top-notch hotels on some islands that you can choose to stay in if you’d like somewhere fancy.
